As many of you know, my medieval romances have come out of KDP Select and are now available at all portals again. The two exceptions are The Wolf & the Witch and The Hunter & the Heiress. Both of these books finish their current terms in KU in November, and will be republished at all portals then.

This means that The Dragon & the Damsel won’t be going into KDP Select in the near future, nor will The Scot & the Sorceress immediately after publication. I may enroll the entire Blood Brothers series in KDP Select at some future point in time, but not right now. After crunching the numbers, it’s clear that having my books available at all portals is a more successful strategy for me. I actually expected the opposite to be true, but the only way to find out for sure was to give it a try.

Having the books in wide distribution means that you can anticipate a sale on The Wolf & the Witch, probably in the new year, to welcome new readers to the series while book #4 is on pre-order. It also means that I’m going to try something new in February and that the publication date for S&S has moved to May. Stay tuned for details.

I also moved out the Masquerade of the Marchioness to December to give me a chance to catch my breath. 🙂

Once all my books are published at all the portals again – with updated interiors and shiny new links here on the website – I’ll be able to focus on writing more new books. I’m really looking forward to that. It’s been a busy year for updates.

A Small Delay

I’ve moved the publication date on The Dragon & the Damsel out by a week. It will now be published on October 26. This is because I am still running late after having a terrible cold for two entire weeks – ugh – and I want to make sure there’s time for a complete review before publication. Although I’m sorry for the delay, I love this story and can’t wait for you all to read it. 🙂

If you have pre-ordered the book already, you might have received a notification from your portal of choice. Your pre-order will be fulfilled on the 26th. This teeny delay might also mean that the print edition is available on the on-sale date, too. Thanks for your understanding!

New Cover for The Last Highlander

In the past year or so, I’ve noticed that romantic comedies tend to have cartoon covers. I’d been thinking of updating the look of my time travel romances, so this time, we went with cartoon covers. The first one to be completed is The Last Highlander. I think this cover is so cute!

There are a few exceptions that will join the other books in the middle of October. The Beauty Bride is still in KDP Select until October 11. That means the boxed sets which include The Beauty Bride (the Jewels of Kinfairlie Boxed Set, First Knights and Kinfairlie Knights) will have to wait to be published wide until TBB is out of KU. I’m in the midst of having new covers designed for all four of the Time Travel romances, so they’ll be republished with the new covers. And I need to update the interiors for both An Elegy for Melusine and Beguiled before they’re published at all portals again.

The Wolf & the Witch and The Hunter & the Heiress remain in Kindle Unlimited. The Dragon & the Damsel will be published at all portals for a week, then will move into KU, too. I’ll do the same with The Scot & the Sorceress, then probably take the whole series wide again next summer. We’ll see how it goes.

I’m also going to add the Jewels of Kinfairlie series on Radish. The Rogues of Ravensmuir are already there. I don’t find that my historicals get as much traction there as contemporaries, but if this series does well, I’ll load some more books there. (It’s a bit of a labour-intensive process.)

The Blood Brothers series is the only one that will remain in Kindle Unlimited.

I’ve also added a lot more buy links for print editions and have added print and audio buy links to the Books2Read pages.

For September, The Countess will be a free read. It’s starting to go free at some portals – Amazon will be the last, of course, but you can grab it now at GooglePlay, Apple or Smashwords.

The rest of my medieval romance backlist comes out of KU September 14. If you have KU reading to do, now’s the time to get to it!
