Update May 22

I’ve started to post weekly updates on my Cooke site, so I thought it would make sense to do them here as well. 🙂

Five star review for One Knight's Bride, book four of the Rogues & Angels series of medieval romances by Claire Delacroix

As you know, One Knight’s Bride is now out in the world. The print edition is available as well, both at the portals and in my online store. There are a lot of wonderful reviews for this book already which is exciting.

I’ve ordered the next two covers in the Rogues & Angels series from the designer – I’m not sure whether Luc or Thierry will end up being next, twins being as they are, so I want to have both covers ready to go. As with Amaury’s book, I’ll put up the pre-order when the book goes to editing so it’s pretty much ready to go.

We’re also repackaging the books set in the Ravensmuir world right now. The Rogues of Ravensmuir are done. These new editions are available in trade paperback or jacketed hardcover – there’s a new illustration of each couple by Dar Albert, which goes on the case laminate of the hard cover or on the inside of the duplexed trade paperback cover. As always, Dar is doing a gorgeous job – you can see the illustrations for the first three books in this blog post.

new Ravensmuir editions coming summer 2026

I was going to take this launch to Kickstarter, but instead it will be in my online store first, then at retailers. You can order the new print editions of the Rogues of Ravensmuir in my online store right here for delivery in July or look for them at retail portals next February. The ebooks will get the new covers at retailers in February, as well, or you can order them for earlier delivery in my online store.

This week, we started working on the illustrations for the Jewels of Kinfairlie series. Here’s the first pass of the outside covers, though they may change slightly before we’re done:

Ah, there already have been changes! The pendant shown here on The Snow White Bride has moved to the cover for The Beauty Bride, because Madeline has that necklace, the Virgin’s Tear, which has a clear stone. There are always tweaks and changes before we finish up. As with the Rogues of Ravensmuir, I’ll make the new editions available early in my online store – The Ballad of Rosamunde will be included in the print edition of The Snow White Bride, so its cover here is just for the ebook.

I’ve also signed a new deal this week for The Christmas Conquest to be translated into German, with the plan of continuing through the rest of the series with the same translator. I’ll be pleased to see that series available in German as I think it will do well in that market.

That’s this week’s news!

One Knight’s Bride Today!

The next medieval romance in my Rogues & Angels series is now available today! One Knight’s Bride is Amaury’s marriage of convenience, which proves to be a lot more passionate than this knight expects. The story is available in both ebook and trade paperback.

One Knight's Bride, book four of the Rogues & Angels series of medieval romances by Claire Delacroix

Amaury de Montvieux returns home from crusade expecting change – but not that his legacy has been claimed by a neighbor, or that his sole hope of regaining his inheritance is to marry the conqueror’s daughter. The maiden is known to be both plain and a shrew, but Amaury does not care: he must hold Montvieux, regardless of the price. He’s never believed that love should stand in the way of matters of importance. Marriage it will be.

Isabella de Marnis is not one to spurn fortune’s favor. She secretly admired the handsome knight Amaury, son and heir of her father’s enemy, long before he rode to crusade. She’s thrilled that he will be her husband and would give him anything – but when Isabella soon realizes that Amaury’s heart belongs to Montvieux alone, fears she is no more than a useful pawn.

No sooner are their vows exchanged than Isabella’s older brother dies in a mysterious accident. When her father is murdered, Isabella fears that those from Montvieux have taken their revenge. Captive in her ancestral home, she never expects Amaury to storm the gates to come to her aid, much less to suggest they join forces to unveil the villain. In every way, Amaury proves himself the valiant warrior of Isabella’s dreams. Her own heart is lost – but when she ensures that his legacy is regained, will Amaury cast her aside forever?

Cursed to take the form of the wolf by day, Rolfe de Viandin is skeptical that love can save him. Hunted in the forest, Annelise de Sayerne has to surrender her desire to wed for love, as the price of entering the only refuge is marriage to its enigmatic lord. She fears he must be a monster, but once she experiences his kindness, Annelise resolves to find love with her new husband—if she can just claim his heart.

Even as Rolfe is beguiled by his bride and Annelise unravels his secrets, a spurned suitor pursues Annelise, determined to claim her legacy at any price. If Rolfe’s curse is not broken, how can he defend his beloved wife from the villain? Will their future be lost before it is truly won—or will Rolfe be convinced of the power of love in time?

A Little Break

If you had pre-ordered any of my books, you may have received a message from the portal that the pre-order has been cancelled. I still intend to write the books, but right now, I’m not very productive. Having the deadline of each pre-order isn’t helping, so I cancelled the pre-orders that were set up for 2026.

Thanks for your understanding!
