New Blood Brothers HardCover Editions

My next Kickstarter campaign will feature new hardcover editions of the four Blood Brothers medieval Scottish romances. It will launch on February 13 and run through the 24th.

As you know, the books are all available in ebook, in trade paperback and in large print hardcovers right now – plus the first two are available in audio. I’ve been able to simplify this campaign since I have a better idea what you all like. 🙂 We’ll focus on the signed books this time.

I’ll show you the new covers when they’re done – they’ll have couples on the case laminate and no people on the dust jacket. There will be postcards of the new images, coloring pages, stickers and a MAP, as well as a Blood Brothers world guide in ebook. The Early Bird special is a set of four vellum inserts, one for each book, that go along with the set of signed copies of all four new hardcovers. The vellum images will be the cover art from the current trade paperbacks.

The preview page is live at Kickstarter now, and you can follow it to be notified when the campaign launches.

Unboxing the Bride Quest New Editions

You may have seen a link to this on my FB page yesterday, because I did share it there. Now I’m sharing it here. One of the backers of my Bride Quest Kickstarter campaign has blogged about the unboxing of her 25th anniversary commemorative hard cover editions. If you have questions about how we fulfill the KS campaigns, here’s a sneak peek.

You can read Katherine’s post right here.

The New Bride Quest Editions

I was sewing the fabric book covers for the fulfillment of the Kickstarter campaign this past weekend, and just wanted to show off the pretties to you. This campaign was the launch the new commemorative hardcover and mass market paperback editions of The Bride Quest, which was launched twenty-five years ago. There’s a new illustration for each book, which became the image on the case laminate of the new hardcover edition of that book, as well as the image on the new mass market paperback.

Backers of the signed hardcover tiers in the Kickstarter campaign are getting a fabric book cover for The Princess along with their reward. This has the image from the dust jacket of The Princess, but no type. Here’s a picture of my copy of The Princess inside its fabric dust jacket in the middle of the picture. The printed dust jacket is off to the right. There are more completed fabric jackets to the left, then some of the printed swag from the KS campaign in between.

Those little square stickers are so cute!

There were also digital rewards, including downloadable coloring pages and postcards. In addition, there are two new Bride Quest stories: a short story Christmas at Tullymullagh, and a novella, Easter at Airdfinnan. These stories are included in the new print editions (Christmas at Tullymullagh in The Heiress and Easter at Airdfinnan in The Temptress) and will be available in ebook in December.

Christmas at Tullymullagh is a Bride Quest story and #7 in the series of medieval romances by Claire Delacroix
Easter at Airdfinnan is an epilogue to the Bride Quest II trilogy, set six years after the end of The Temptress.

The new print editions will be available at retailers in November and are up for pre-order now. I’ll share the links with you later this week.

Once I receive copies of The Temptress in the new hardcover edition, I’ll make a video showing the new editions.

Also, I’ll have a special offer soon on some hardcover copies of The Beauty. I mistakenly had some printed without the reader letter. Otherwise, each book is perfect. I’ll print the reader letter and tuck it into the book on a separate piece of paper, then bundle each book with some of the swag. You’ll be able to get this hardcover signed at a special price. Stay tuned for more details about The Beauty Boo-Boos. 🙂

New Bride Quest Swag

I had some new goodies printed for the Bride Quest Kickstarter campaign and wanted to show you. Right now, they’re only available to the backers of the campaign – you can expect this in future, that advance or exclusive swag will be available at Kickstarter. I have these printed in small quantities, so there aren’t many leftovers.

First, there’s a new bookmark showing the 25th anniversary commemorative mass market editions of all six Bride Quest books. This is a really fat bookmark, almost a postcard.

I’ll order more of these in the fall and add them to the swag you can request from me, as part of the launch of the new editions in November.

Next, I did postcards of the six cover illustrations. Backers get a set of all six. The new logo is on the back of each one. When these are gone, they’re gone.

Then I ran some stickers because they’re just so cute. These are tiny, and again, backers get a set of six, one of each cover illustration. When these are gone, they’re gone.

Six Bride Quest colouring pages

There also is a set of six colouring pages to download, print and colour. I’ll make those available for download here in November as part of the launch of the new editions.

There are a few sets of postcards and stickers left, but I haven’t decided whether to save them for my next Kickstarter campaign and sell them as add-ons or sell them in sets in November from here. If you have strong thoughts either way, please comment on the post.

Aren’t they pretty, though?

The Final Kickstarter Bonus – and a Last Chance Sale

I’ve added a bonus to the Kickstarter campaign for the new editions of my Bride Quest series of medieval romances and wanted to share it with you.

It’s a fabric book cover for the hardcover editions. Here it is flat with a copy of The Princess – you can see the inside of it here.

There’s an elastic on the left to hold the book closed when you aren’t reading and a ribbon bookmark with a charm on the end of it.

I had the fabric printed using the design of the dust jacket without any type. Here’s the front on the left and the back on the right – you can see the charm, too.

And here’s the book cover at work. You can also see the cream interior stock in this picture.

This fabric book cover, made by me, will be included with every pledge that includes a SIGNED hardcover copy of The Princess in the Bride Quest Kickstarter campaign. You can buy just The Princess signed in hardcover, the three books in the Bride Quest I signed in hardcover or all six books, and you’ll get one of these fabric covers. Although it’s made for The Princess, it will fit The Damsel, The Countess and The Beauty, since they have spines of similar width. It might fit The Heiress and The Temptress but I don’t have copies of those two yet to be sure, and they are a bit fatter.

This is a one-time opportunity to add this exclusive swag to your collection. There won’t be any extras as I’ll be sewing them to order!

The campaign ends tonight at 8PM and there’s a Last Chance Flash Sale on the signed hardcover editions, available from 8AM Eastern to the end of the campaign. Don’t miss your chance to add this special bonus and these beautiful editions to your collection.
