The Mercenary’s Bride in Audio

The Mercenary's Bride, book one of the Brides of Inverfyre series of medieval Scottish romances by Claire Delacroix, in audio

The Mercenary’s Bride, book one of the Brides of Inverfyre series of medieval Scottish romances, is coming in audio!

This medieval Christmas novella has been narrated by Tim Campbell and is on its way to retailers now. I’ll add buy links to the Audio page for the Brides of Inverfyre as they go live, but you can listen to a sample right now.

Audiobooks Coming Soon

I’m excited to share with you that I’ve contracted with narrator Tim Campbell for two more audiobooks.

The Mercenary's Bride, book one of the Brides of Inverfyre series of medieval Scottish romances by Claire Delacroix, in audio

First, I’m listening to his narration of The Mercenary’s Bride right now. Once I approve it, it will make its way to Audible, Amazon and Apple. I’m not sure how long that takes these days, so we’ll find out together. I’m so excited that he managed to squeeze in this project, as Quentin and Mhairi’s romance is a Christmas story. It’ll be great to have the audiobook available (fingers crossed) for the holiday season.

I should have a sample to share with you next week.

When you listen, remember that the Gaelic pronunciation of Mhairi is VAHree.

Next, in the effort to catch up and make audio production more concurrent with new book releases, Tim will record The Wolf & the Witch in May 2021. It’s not quite simultaneous production and publication, but it’s a lot closer to that ideal than I’ve been to date.

The Runaway Bride, book two of the Brides of Inverfyre series of medieval Scottish romances by Claire Delacroix, in audio

Finally, Tim and I have contracted for production of The Runaway Bride in August 2021, so Ross and Aiofe’s story will be available next fall. We’ll be caught up with the Kinfairlie and Inverfyre books then, which is pretty cool.

We’ll see how things work out after that. I’d like Tim to finish the Blood Brothers trilogy (once I write it) and it’s possible that he could finish the Champions of St. Euphemia series for me. We’ll see how the next year goes, then make a plan for subsequent recordings. Right now, you audiobook fans have three new listens coming soon!

More Audiobooks

I produced a lot of audiobooks in a row, then stopped. Why? It was hard to promote them and I became overwhelmed. But I sorted out some distribution stuff (and am sorting out a bit more) and am looking at them again. There are some new promotional avenues, and I’m kind of excited about that. I know a lot of you love audiobooks.

I also found a fabulous new narrator. I’d been thinking about hiring a new-to-me male narrator for my series and listened to Tim Campbell, who narrates for Cynthia Wright (among many others). His audition blew me away, so we’re off.

He’s recording The Mercenary’s Bride right now. The stars aligned and he had time to squeeze it in this weekend, then he’s booked up. I feel very lucky and hope to be able to share a sample and buy links with you soon.

Here we go again!

New Books2Read Audio Links

Draft2Digital has just added more functionality to their Books2Read Universal Links. I already like how B2R redirects Amazon links to reader locations, and how it provides a handy display of links to smaller and international stores. This week, however, they added audio links. This is really exciting because the audiobook links appear on the same page as the ebook links.

I’ve been populating my Books2Read pages with links for the most popular audio portals. I’ve also been adding Walmart links, which aren’t always connected – there could be three links for any given book (ebook, print and audio).

Here, for example is the Books2Read page for The Beauty Bride.
Books2Read Universal Link page for The Beauty Bride, book one of the Jewels of Kinfairlie series of medieval Scottish romances by Claire Delacroix(There’s no Walmart icon for the ebook, because The Beauty Bride is free right now and Walmart doesn’t stock free ebooks.)

If you click on the book cover, you’ll be taken to a detail page for that title, which looks like this:

And finally, if you go back to the top and click “See More by Claire Delacroix”, you’ll see a page of all my books, with a featured title at the top:

I think this is a pretty handy resource. In addition, if you create a free account with them, you can select your portal of choice and be taken straight to the book’s landing page at that portal every time.

The Beauty Bride, #1 of the Jewels of Kinfairlie series of medieval Scottish romances by Claire Delacroix is also available in audioMore cherished than gold are the Jewels of Kinfairlie, and only the worthiest may fight for their love…The Laird of Kinfairlie has unmarried sisters, each a gem in her own right. And he has no choice but to see them all wed in haste.

Lady Madeline’s heart is not for sale…especially not to a notorious outlaw like Rhys FitzHenry. Yet Madeline’s hand has been sold, to none other than this battle-weary warrior with a price on his head. A more dutiful maiden might cede to the Laird’s command and meekly accept her fate, but Madeline has never been obedient. She decides to run away, though she never dreams that Rhys will pursue her.

She does not expect this taciturn man to woo her with fanciful stories, much less that each of his enthralling tales will reveal a scar upon his shielded soul. She never imagines that a man like Rhys could imperil her own heart while revealing so little of his own feelings. When Rhys’ past threatens his future, Madeline takes a leap of faith. She dares to believe him innocent—and risks her own life to pursue a passion more priceless than the rarest gem.

“A lyrical medieval-era romance!”—Publishers Weekly
